Open hearted Japanese variety with attractive large red/burgundy aromatic leaves and green stems. Traditionally sautéed or used in soups but also great in stir-fry, and young leaves used fresh in salads.

Leaves and stems can be picked at any growth stage but flavour will intensify as the plant matures.
