(Cichorium intybus) Chicory and Radicchio have been in cultivation since ancient times, and is often characterised by its bitterness. Chicory comes in a number of forms. The open loose leaf form looking somewhat like large Dandelions with green white or red stems, and the Radicchio which are around heading type looking similar to cabbages. Sow Chicory seeds in spring and summer for cool highland districts, year round in mild coastal regions and winter in the tropics.
