Roman Chamomile is a fragrant herb much cultivated for medicinal and culinary use.

As a medicine, Chamomile is uses as a tonic for the treatment of indigestion and stomach ailments.

Commonly consumed as a tea Chamomile is a useful treatment for insomnia. Prepared as an ointment Chamomile has traditionally been used to treat insect bites and help heal wounds.

As a culinary herb, Chamomile is often used as a garnish or added to sauces or spreads. Commercial use of the herb is to flavour foods such as sweets and alcoholic beverages.

As a plant Chamomile prefers an open sunny site in any well drained soil. Ideal as a ground cover.
