This old heirloom from Japan makes up one of the highly prised ‘Kyo-Yasai’ or traditional vegetables variety from Kyoto and has been a delicacy for centuries.
The Flavour is sweet with a tender delicate texture. Delicious cooked coated in miso paste, and either baked or fried, also good for stuffing. Traditionally Kamo is grilled coated in oil or boiled and seasoned.
Kamo produces a round dark purple fruit with a flat bottom weighing up to 400g!
